Michelle James is a Principal with Maurice Blackburn and she
manages the Strathpine office.
Since beginning her legal career in the United Kingdom more than
14 years ago, Michelle has advocated solely for people whose access
to justice may not otherwise be possible.
Michelle joined Maurice Blackburn more than seven years ago. She
is passionate about achieving a 'fair go' for workers and devotes
herself to ensuring that the people she acts for are confident they
have the best representation and therefore the best chance of a
successful outcome.
Michelle is a good communicator who is well known for her
down-to-earth attitude and her ability to explain complex legal
concepts in a way that her clients can clearly understand.
She is also a strong supporter of her local community and is
actively involved in the Pine Rivers community through her
involvement with the Pine
Rivers Neighbourhood Centre.
Michelle is a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist and a
member of the Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee for
Personal Injuries. She is Vice President of the Moreton Bay Law
Association and a State Committee Member of the Queensland Branch
of the Australian Lawyers' Alliance, including a member of its
Continuing Legal Education sub-committee.
Michelle is a member of the Management Committee of the Pine
Rivers Neighbourhood Centre and a volunteer at the Pine Rivers
Legal Centre. She has also trained as an adult literacy tutor
and spends two hours a week assisting an adult student with their
literacy.
She is also a member of the Queensland Law Society and the
Maurice Blackburn Women's Law Section.
